Greetings Pinchbeck Ray Families!
It is my pleasure to serve the principal at Raymond B. Pinchbeck Elementary School for a second year!
Let me share a little about my background. This year will be 17th in my educational career. I began in Petersburg as a 6th grade science teacher. The following year, I joined Henrico County Public Schools as a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science teacher at L. D. Wilder Middle School. I earned my Masters (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University during my time there.
Practically upon graduation, I became the assistant principal, then the associate principal at H. M. Ratcliffe Elementary School. Afterward, I transferred to Twin Hickory Elementary School as the associate principal. There, I earned my doctoral degree in education (Ed.D.) from Virginia Commonwealth University. I then was promoted to serve as principal of Short Pump Elementary School. In each experience, it has been a joy collaborating with others to contribute to positive changes with my students and school community.
Personally, I am the grateful mother of two little girls – Adira, 3-years-old, and Isabella, who will be one-year-old in September.
I am thrilled to continue working with the talented and creative expertise of our school’s staff and partner with our families to create a relevant yet fun learning environment for our students. Our theme for the 2021-2022 school year is “RAYSing The Bar” ” as inspired by Mia Hamm’s quote: Celebrate what you’ve accomplished, but raise the bar a little higher each time you succeed. Throughout this school year, we desire to build on the purpose of educating and developing our students as leaders, in our community and beyond.
I am confident that will make the 2021-22 school year one that inspires growth, strength, and persistence within our students and our school community as we purposefully work together. I look forward to working with you to make this year a great one!
