K-2 Gifted Referral Information

The referral process for Gifted Identification begins January 3rd and ends January 18th.  During this time, a parent/guardian, teacher, community member, or peer may submit the name of any student at Pinchbeck in Grades K, 1, and/or 2 to be evaluated for gifted services.  Please visit the following links for additional information about gifted characteristics and the process:

All requests must be submitted in writing or through email to the school’s Gifted Identification Coordinator, Jamie Jones.  Referrals should include the student’s name, grade, teacher and area of referral (math, language or both areas.) Once the referral has been received, additional information will be sent home via the student’s backpack in late January.  This paperwork will allow the school to begin the process of collecting multiple criteria to determine the student’s eligibility.

Additional information, including specific dates and details of the identification process, may be found on our school webpage, as well as the HCPS district site, http://henricoschools.us/gifted/ .   If you have additional questions, please contact Jamie Jones, Gifted Identification Coordinator (jdjones3@henrico.k12.va.us) or Catherine Kelly, Gifted Resource Teacher (cekelly@henrico.k12.va.us).
